FAQ

  • Where can I purchase your pieces online?

You can purchase any of our styles made to order through either our Shop Our Styles page (where you can find more info about each style and shop from our fabric selections) or through our Fabric Library! This option gives you even more choice of fabrics that are measured to tell you what style and size each can accommodate. You can also shop through our Small Batch inventory, which are one of a kind and ready to ship pieces, released whenever possible.

  • Where do you source your vintage materials?

The short answer is - from all over! We receive donations from people who have accumulated a collection of amazing textiles over the years, and wish to see it enjoyed rather than head to landfill. We sometimes source materials at second-hand shops or sales if we see a really special piece that would make a beautiful finished garment. If you have any vintage fabric that you would like to donate - please get in touch!

  • What do you mean by vintage, deadstock, and modern fabric?

We do our best to describe the textiles and other materials that we work with to make our products. ‘Vintage’ means fabric that is over 20 years old. ‘Deadstock’ refers to materials that are not quite this old, but are no longer being produced. We always use new thread to ensure it’s strength, and often modern or deadstock notions like zippers or buttons. Every Heavy Flow piece is constructed using vintage, deadstock, & second-hand fabric.

  • Where are your products made, and by who?

All of our pieces are designed, graded, cut, sewn and packed in our Toronto studio by our small team - Isla, Sarita & Curt! We cut all of our pieces by hand and sew them ourselves in house.

  • How often do you release new designs and small batch pieces?

As often as we can, but with no set dates! We are a slow-fashion focused company, and do not release pieces seasonally. We take great care in creating our garments, as well as maintaining ethical and sustainable production practices.
